🔍 Telegram Desktop HTML exports expose message data via hidden JavaScript

A reported Telegram Desktop flaw allows concealed JavaScript inside exported HTML chat archives to exfiltrate message contents when the files are opened. The issue affects local exports rather than Telegram transport itself, turning archived conversations into active content. Technical details are outlined in Telegram Desktop coverage published on 14 September.

Operationally, this shifts risk to post-chat handling: exported logs can behave like execution surfaces, not static records. For investigators, journalists, and teams sharing archives, trust in offline chat exports is reduced unless rendering and script execution are tightly controlled.

■■■■□ Agam Rossen's VolAnti is an open-source acoustic #drone #detector built around an #ESP32-S3, four MEMS microphones, e-paper display and LoRa radio.

It analyzes the harmonic signature of spinning propellers instead of looking for radio signals, making it interesting for detecting fibre-optic #FPV drones that can leave the radio spectrum silent.

The concept could be useful for perimeter monitoring, wildlife & environmental monitoring, industrial site awareness, event security, search and rescue operations and early-warning sensor networks, especially where visual detection or conventional radio-based detection is difficult.

The creator reports 104 m measured detection, 0.23 s alert latency in its fastest detector, and roughly 18–22 hours of battery life.

The Changing State of Openness in Android | Chaos Computer Club - Foscon

In this talk, I want to give an overview of the changes that Google has introduced in the past twelve months in the #Android ecosystem and how they are affecting Android users, device manufacturers, custom #ROM maintainers and the open-source community in general.

Last year, Google announced the introduction of Android Developer Verification and upcoming restrictions for Android Application sideloading on Android-certified devices. This caused a wave of opposition in the open-source community and led to the creation of the "Keep Android Open" initiative. Projects like #UnifiedPush, have seen an increased interest and ideas for a Unified Attestation framework are emerging.

Apart from that, there are further changes that Google has made to the development process of the AOSP that affect #AOSP developers and custom ROM maintainers, like #LineageOS or #GrapheneOS.
